JNR Olympics Day 12.8.16

On Friday in week 3 we had a Junior Olympics day.
All of the classes chose a country and Room 1 was Canada.
We made headbands and flags to carry in our Opening Ceremony Parade. That is how we started the day.

The parade kicked off and the countries all went round in alphabetical order. We also sang the National Anthem.

The countries in our parade were Australia, Canada, China, Englad, Philipines, United States and Brazil. Because Brazil is the hosting country they went last.

After Morning Tea we did Olympics Art Discovery. We got to choose to make a lot of different things. Flags, Olympics torches and Medals.

In Room 1 we got to make Olympics Flags.

After Lunch we did Olympics Sports. There was a lot to choose from.

Our Olympics day was a lot of fun!

Thursday- Maths week

Today for Maths we had a Cantamath competition against the other New Entrant classes, Room 2 and 3. We had to get in groups of 4 and race against the other groups solving maths problems. Some of the problems were addition, some were about shapes, groups and patterns. It was a lot of fun.
One of Room 1's groups came first and won us a class game. Room 3's groups came second and third.

We also had a competition in class to see who could make the longest Fruit Burst wrapper. Taliyah won because she ripped hers up the smallest, very carefully and it became the longest.

It looked like it was hard work.
