As part of our Headstart programme we are learning to work with a buddy and share.
For one of the activities on Tuesday we made Animal enclosures with blocks and fences. Then we had to share the animals.

Orana Park 17.10.16
On the 17th of October for our Inquiry Topic on Animal Habitats the Junior Syndicate went on a trip to Orana Park. We learnt a lot of new things about animals, where they live and the things they eat.
It was a fun day.
Belfast School Fair
We had a school fair. Room 1 and 2 had a stall together. We sold plants and Lucky Dips.
It was a very busy day. Some of the Room 1 children came to help out as well.
The Belfast Jump Jam Team's performed as well as the Choir and the Belfast Got Talent winners. There was a lot of entertainment.
The Staff also did an item at the end. The Junior Syndicate all dressed up for it.
The kids thought the staff looked funny.

Goodbye Miss Grundy
This last 4 weeks we have had Miss Grundy as one of our teachers. Today we had to say goodbye to her. We have loved having her with us in Room 1. She gave us a goodbye treat and a hug. 
We hope Miss Grundy comes to visit us soon.

Pirate Dress Up Day 16.9.16
We had a lot of fun on Friday being dressed up as pirates and mermaids.
We had a parade to show off our costumes and did fun pirate activities in the afternoon with the syndicate.
The dress up day was to start our pirate week in Week 9. We are reading a class Big Book about how to be a pirate and we are doing a lot of fun pirate things including making pirate sidekick puppets. They are turning out really well.

P.E with Miss Grundy 9.9.16
Miss Grundy has been teaching us some big ball skills.
Last week she taught us how to do a bounce pass.
This week she has shown us how to do a chest pass. We need to step forward and pass from our chest with our elbows out.
When we are catching the ball we need to make sure our eyes are on the ball and our hands are ready.
We need to be careful not to throw too hard.

Fast words
We have been practising writing words quickly. On a Friday we get 5 minutes to write as many words as we can. 
We have been working really hard to spell out words.
