PE Games

We learnt how to play a game called "freeze and Thaw".
One person is the tagger, two people are the savers with the balls and everyone has to run away. The savers throw the ball or roll the ball to the people who have been tagged to try and save them.
We were learning to catch and throw the ball.
It was fun!

We also learnt how to play "Bulldog".
You have to try and run from one end to the next and try to stay away from the tagger. If you get tagged you also become a tagger.
We were learning to dodge and move away from the tagger.

Anzac Ceremony

On the last day of term the whole school went over to the war memorial at Sheldon Park to pay respects to those who have fallen. Several ex Belfast School pupils died.
We sang the National Anthem and gave a minutes silence.
We are grateful to the men who fought so we could live the lives we live today.

Museum Visit

For our term trip we went to the Museum.
We explored the Museum and saw the way things used to be, many NZ icons, Maori houses, dinosaur bones and the Discovery Room. It was a fantastic day!
There was a lot of rain that day and we missed out on our Botanic Gardens picnic however, we had a great first school trip!
We look forward to the trips we have coming up over the year.
Here are some photo's of our day.

Kindy visit

On Thursday, we went to the Belfast Kindy next door to visit them. We got to meet the kindy kids and play with them. For some of us we were going back to our old kindy. It was pretty kool to see some of our old friends and to meet the new teacher Alisa.
It was fun playing some new games and using some new equipment.

Easter

Out Buddy class, Room 18, took us on an egg hunt in the hall. It was a lot of fun.
Later in the day we had a scavenger hunt with the junior syndicate. We had to complete a colour by number to earn our Easter egg. We had to search all over the play ground.
Out baskets were very full of chocolate!
We made bunny ears.
Bunny ears, bunny baskets and chocolate. What a great start to the weekend!
