Term 1, week 9

This week in P.E. we have been doing Gymnastics. We have been learning different shapes we can make with our bodies. We learnt the pencil, the pike, the straddle and the tuck.
This is the pencil.

This is the tuck.

This is the straddle.

This is the pike.

We are going to use these shapes on the foam mats to move into a roll.

This is a pencil roll. We need to keep our arms and legs straight and tight together.

This is a hedgehog roll. We need to be in a tucked up ball.

This is a dish roll. It's like a pencil roll but we need to keep our arms and legs off the ground like a dish.

We wrote a story on Tuesday as a class. We made a class book. Here is a link of us saying our Bubbles story.

On Tuesday we also had house colour afternoon. We loved dressing up in our house colours, doing Easter craft, having a scavenger hunt and learning out house chants.

On Wednesday we had our Celebration Assembly. Jacoby and Isabelle presented for our syndicate. Callum got the Principals award for being a caring meme r of Room 1.

On Thursday we were lucky enough to go and see our Buddy Class in Room 13. They did some plays for us. They did a great job.

We had an Easter Egg hunt with the other New Entrants and made our ownEaster  bunny baskets for Miss McCoy give us some treats too.

Term 1, week 7

We have had another busy week at school.
On Wednesday we had 5 people come and visit us in Room 1. Ryleigh, Bella, Mac, Caitlin and Ariana will be starting with us soon. On their visit we made fruit kebabs. We then wrote a recount on how we made them. Fruit is healthy for us. We have been learning about healthy food and the food pyramid in Inquiry.

On Wednesday we also had Discovery. We are learning to manage ourselves.
We love Discovery.

On Thursday the Skud race car came to visit, we thought it was Awsome!

Here is a link to view it after Brett turned it on for us. It was really loud!

On Friday we have the library. We get to take 2 books home.

Swimming Demo - week 6

The Junior syndicate had their swimming demonstration on Friday afternoon. The sun was out and it was nice and warm for our last time in the pool.
We all chose a skill we had been learning in our lessons that we wanted to show our families in a race.

Some of us chose to use a kick board.

Another group chose to use noodles.

We could also choose to walk/run across the pool.

Next, we had a house relay. One person from each class in each house was in the race.
For Room 1 we had Olivia representing red house, Tyler for blue house, Jasmine for green house and Jacoby for yellow house.

Blue house won, followed by green, red and yellow house.

We were surprised at the end of our demo with some ice blocks.

They were very tasty and refreshing. After that we could have some free time in the water before going home.

We had a great time showing what we could do in the water.
